Four star interior offensive lineman Jared Smith has committed to Rutgers!
Smith is a 6 foot 5, 320 pound interior offensive lineman from Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Georgia. He is listed as the No. 30 overall interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He had a top four list that consisted of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Rutgers before he ultimately decided to commit to the Knights.
Smith announced his commitment via live stream. While on the stream he praised the personal connection Rutgers coaching staff established with him and his family and mentioned how excited he was to work under offensive line coach Pat Flaherty.
“(Rutgers) has supported me the most, they always showed that they cared”
Smith was primarily recruited as a guard, however, he can also play tackle like he did in high school. During his junior season with the Wolfpack, Smith won offensive line MVP honors in February’s Under Armour Next All-American Camp Series in Atlanta.
Watching his tape shows a player who blocks until the whistle is blown, or until his opponent is in the dirt.
Smith still has an official visit to Rutgers scheduled for May 30.
One interesting thing to note is that Smith’s uncle, Tyron Smith, was an offensive tackle with the Cowboys and New York Jets.
Smith becomes the third offensive line commit and the 10th commit overall in the 2026 class for Rutgers. He is also the fourth four-star commit of the 2026 class joining wide receiver Dyzier Carter, Edge rusher Wydeek Collier, and Safety Chris Hewitt Jr.
