Wisconsin football transfer Quincy Burroughs Western Kentucky commit

Former Wisconsin football wide receiver Quincy Burroughs signed with Western Kentucky on Friday.

Burroughs entered the transfer portal during the spring window after two years with the Badgers. He originally transferred to the program in 2023 after one year at Cincinnati, following head coach Luke Fickell.

Burroughs appeared in 22 games during his Wisconsin career, totaling five receptions for 43 yards and five special teams tackles. He was part of a crowded wide receiver room that became a major transfer recruiting focus once Phil Longo took over as offensive coordinator before the 2023 season.

The 6-foot-2 wideout now commits to a Western Kentucky program that has won at least eight games in four consecutive seasons, plus has a six-year bowl streak dating back to 2019. He joins with two years of eligibility remaining.

Burroughs was one of six Badgers to exit during the spring transfer window. Tanner Koziol and Mark Hamper were the group’s headliners after each had just joined the program during the winter window. Other departures were Burroughs, long snapper Eli Stein, cornerback Jay Harper and offensive lineman Derek Jensen. Meanwhile, the Badgers added commitments from five players — quarterback Hunter Simmons, wide receiver Dekel Crowdus, tight end Lance Mason, long snapper Nick Levy and offensive lineman Davis Heinzen.

Burroughs is one of several notable Wisconsin wide receivers to transfer this offseason, following starters Will Pauling and C.J. Williams. The program addressed the position with the additions of Crowdus and Ohio State transfer Jayden Ballard. Looking ahead to the season, the team’s wide receiver corps should play a major role in the success of first-year offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes’ unit.
