The total revenue, best selling beer and more from Georgia alcohol sales

Georgia football fans took advantage of the first season of public alcohol sales in Sanford Stadium during the Bulldogs SEC championship season last year.

The sale of beer and seltzer brought in $2,794,481 in gross revenue, according to figures obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request.

Georgia’s biggest games — against a No. 6 Tennessee team and rivals Auburn and Georgia Tech — drew the most sales.

Fans could get a cold can of Miller Lite, Coors Light and Michelob Ultra for $10, High Noon, Modelo and Twisted Tea for $11 and Tropicalia, Classic City Lager and Sip’Em Seltzer for $12.

Here’s the rundown in order of most sales per game:

Tennessee, Nov. 16 $762,801

Auburn, Oct. 5 $516,770

Georgia Tech, Nov. 29 $495,009

Mississippi State, Oct. 12 $406,593

UMass, Nov. 23 $314,850

Tennessee Tech, Sept. 7. $298,458

The Tennessee and Georgia Tech games were at night and the Auburn game was a 3:30 pm. kickoff. Georgia Tech was on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Georgia athletics brought in $233,309 in the first year of alcohol sales for men’s and women’s basketball games, baseball and softball.
