Colorado-Nebraska rivalry makes appearance on EA Sports’ CFP 26 cover

EA Sports’ return to college football video games was a rousing success last season with “College Football 25,” and the game is returning this summer for its second edition.

Although we still don’t know much about the new features of the latest game, which comes out on July 10, we do know that the new edition features real-life head coaches. The game’s first reveal trailer will come out later this week on Thursday, but in the meantime, we have the cover of the game to look over.

For Colorado fans, the best thing about Tuesday’s cover release is the deluxe edition cover that features plenty of college football dignitaries and one sly ode to one of college football’s best rivalries.

A Nebraska football fan holding up a license plate that reads “BEAT CU,” which all Colorado fans can agree depicts how obsessed Cornhusker fans are with Colorado.

No other Colorado football references appear on the cover, so the one homage to the bitter rivalry with Nebraska will have to do.

The game’s standard edition features star sophomore wide receivers: Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith. The stud duo were some of college football’s best receivers during their freshman season and were two of the best players in last year’s EA Sports game.

Everyone should expect the 2026 edition of the game to be a big success once again, and with new features scheduled to be announced this week, the intrigue should only grow over the next month or so as we wait for the early July release.
