Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney

One of the top cornerback prospects in the 2026 recruiting class is set to make his decision, as four-star Dorian Barney will reportedly choose between Penn State, Michigan, Georgia Tech, and Texas A&M on Saturday, July 5.

Barney’s relationship with Texas A&M was very strong heading into the 2025 offseason. Still, over the last month, Penn State has become a favorite after several visits, while Michigan has also taken strides. After his official visit to Penn State on May 16, Barney will take OVs to Georgia Tech on May 30, Texas A&M on June 6, and Michigan on June 20.

However, Barney has visited the Aggies four times over the past year, so even though Penn State has become the favorite, you can’t count out Texas A&M, which has been on a recruiting hot streak under head coach Mike Elko. In a recent interview with GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley, Barney stated that he could see himself playing in A&M’s future secondary.

“It was great getting back. That was my fourth time back. So I experienced a lot already with going there some other times, but it was good this time,” Barney stated. “The environment, hanging around with the staff. They always show me love when I’m there.”

According to 247Sports, Barney is currently ranked as the 149th-best prospect in the class, the 14th-best cornerback, and the 20th-best prospect in Georgia.
