The 2025 college football season is inching closer and becoming more real with the reveal of the TV networks and game times for Auburn’s first three games.
The Tigers will kick off the season in Waco, Texas, against the Baylor Bears on Friday, Aug. 29, in primetime. The Tigers and Bears will square off at 7 p.m. CT on the final Friday in August, and can be seen on FOX. Auburn will then open its home slate on Sept. 6 against Ball State on ESPNU with a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff before hosting in-state foe South Alabama for an 11:45 A.M. CT kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 13. SEC Network will carry the game between the Tigers and Jaguars from Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Auburn’s date with Baylor will be the fifth meeting all-time, and the first since 1976. It will also mark the first time that Auburn has played in Waco since 1975, a game that ended in a 10-10 tie. Baylor won the most recent matchup over Auburn, 15-14, at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 1976 for its second-ever win over Auburn after winning its first matchup in Auburn, 14-8, in 1965. Auburn took down Baylor in its first meeting, 33-13, in the 1954 Gator Bowl.
Auburn’s game with Ball State will be its fourth in program history, and the first since 2009. Auburn holds a 3-0 record over the Cardinals, most recently winning 54-30 at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 26, 2009. Auburn and South Alabama have never met on the gridiron.
According to Auburn Sports Communications, the kickoff and TV networks for the remainder of Auburn’s games that are deemed “SEC controlled” will be released in June.
