Georgia is ranked fourth in USA TODAY’s post-spring football rankings.
After spring practice and the closure spring transfer portal window, USA TODAY’s Paul Myerberg ranked all 136 FBS college football teams. The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked fourth. The Dawgs are ranked behind Texas, Clemson, and Penn State. Notre Dame and Ohio State, the two national championship participants from last season, complete the top six.
Myerberg’s ranking is a sign of confidence in Georgia. Head coach Kirby Smart is the college’s most decorated active head coach. Myerberg faith that he will coach Georgia to an SEC contender despite the significant amount of talent lost on both sides of the ball.
Smart will also have to deal with Georgia’s daunting schedule. Georgia will face five teams in the top 25, although No. 12 Tennessee is the only one of those teams the Bulldogs face on the road.
They’ll also face No. 1 Texas, No. 10 Alabama, No. 15 Ole Miss, and No. 21 Florida. It’s the same conference schedule for UGA as last year. In 2024, Georgia went 10-2 during the regular season.
