LSU commit Kenny Darby will make a final decision regarding where he’ll play college football on July 4, according to On3.

The four-star wide receiver took an official visit to Alabama this weekend and will make a trip to Baton Rouge on June 21. He is deciding between the two schools, despite not officially flipping his choice made in November.

“I love the coaching staffs a lot,” Darby said. “It’s going to be hard.”

Darby is one of three wide receivers in LSU’s top-ranked 2026 class, alongside five-star Tristen Keys and four-star Jabari Mack. Should he flip to the Crimson Tide, he would be the second pass catcher to depart from the group, following Jakai Anderson, who flipped to SMU.

If head coach Brian Kelly’s staff cannot keep Darby on board, it would be the second in-state commit to flip. Both Darby and Anderson hail from Louisiana. For a team laser-focused on keeping the best homegrown talent, the Tigers Darby to an SEC rival would be a hit.

In the 2024 cycle, Alabama flipped one of LSU’s top receiver commits in Derek Meadows. The Tigers will look to avoid that fate with Darby.
