One of Wisconsin football’s top targets in the 2026 class cut his list of finalists down to six on Monday.
That is four-star running back Amari Latimer, who just took his official visit to the program this past weekend. The Badgers made his list of finalists along with the Michigan Wolverines, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns and Tennessee Volunteers.
Notably, Amari Latimer is the brother of recent Badger transfer addition, cornerback Geimere Latimer, who came to Madison in the winter after spending two seasons with the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
Amari Latimer is one of Wisconsin’s top targets in the 2026 cycle. 247Sports lists him as a four-star recruit and ranks him specifically as the No. 287 player in the class, No. 17 running back and No. 30 recruit from Georgia. It’s clear his recruitment won’t be an easy one for the Badgers, considering the top programs in his list of finalists.
The Badgers may have an advantage, due to his early visit to the program and the presence of his brother on the roster. However, coach Luke Fickell and his staff know that may not be enough to seal the deal. Latimer now has three upcoming visits to Michigan, Texas, and Georgia on June 6, 13 and 20, respectively.
