Georgia football in prime position for another elite recruit

Georgia has successfly secured a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie. That commitment has created momentum for the Bulldogs and consensus four-star recruit James Johnson could be the next elite defensive lineman to commit to Georgia.

Johnson is ranked as the No. 87 recruit in the country and the No. 10 defensive lineman. He is the No. 12 recruit in Florida in the class of 2026.

Johnson still has upcoming recruiting visits to Florida, Miami and Syracuse. He sees a bright potential future at Georgia and the Bulldogs continue to give him a lot to think about.

On3’s own Steve Witfong named Georgia as the leader before Johnson took his recent official visit to Athens and hearing his thoughts from this weekend all but reassures the Bulldogs’ position with the talented recruit.

“The best parts were spending time with the coaches and players on the team, I’d say they have so much success because of how they work and how good of a coach Kirby Smart along with Coach Scott coaching the d-line and developing great players.” Johnson told On3 (Subscription needed).

After commitments from Seven Cloud and Carter Luckie, if Johnson commits, then the Bulldogs would be on the way to having one of the best defensive line classes in the nation.
