With summer on the horizon, the 2025 season is creeping closer for Texas A&M football.

Who’s gone from the 2024 squad that went 8-5 and fell a win short of an SEC title-game appearance? Who’s back? And what portal arrivals and freshmen from the nation’s No. 9 recruiting class, according to 247Sports, have joined the team?

The Aggies had an up-and-down season that included a 7-1 start and a 1-4 finish. Now, entering the second year of head coach Mike Elko’s tenure, A&M is looking to improve on a pedestrian first year that that began with much promise.

Can Texas A&M push for a College Football Playoff spot in 2025? The roster has a few holes but boasts loads of potential, highlighted by a concerted effort via the transfer portal this offseason.

The loss of former five-star Conner Weigman was expected. The Katy native lost his job following Marcel Reed’s heroics in the Week 8 win over LSU and set the wheels in motion for a changing of the guard under center for A&M. Weigman headed home to Houston for a fresh start.
