The Oklahoma Sooners have been rolling on the recruiting trail in the 2026 recruiting class. After a successful official visit weekend, the Sooners received commitments from Matthew Nelson and Noah Best. Oklahoma has also been projected to land several other prospects that they just had on campus.
One of those players is defensive tackle Tavian Branch. Josh McCuistion of SoonerScoop and On3 predicted Oklahoma to land the talented defensive tackle out of Pennsylvania.
“I spent a lot time with coach (Todd) Bates and he was showing me how I’m a priority to them and how much I mean to them,” Branch told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Coach Bates is a great coach and a great guy. I like him a lot.”
Branch is a legit nose tackle prospect who is right at 300 pounds going into his senior season of high school. He moves incredibly well for his size, displaying really good athleticism and a strong first step. Branch has a good swim move and plays quick from the interior. He has a good motor and plays with tenacity.
The Sooners will have to woo him away from schools in the northeast, primarily Rutgers, Pitt, and Penn State, but Oklahoma has put themselves in a really strong position to add Tavian Branch.
