Notre Dame football offers Iola-Scandinavia’s junior tight end

IOLA ― Iola-Scandinavia junior football standout Korz Loken announced on X (formerly Twitter) Monday, June 9 that he has received a scholarship to play for Notre Dame.

Currently the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin and No. 7 ranked tight end according to 247 Sports, Loken impressed the Fighting Irish in an unofficial visit, leaving the team no option but to grant him an offer.

“I got it directly from coach (Marcus) Freeman, which was huge,” Loken said. “He seems like a really knowledgeable guy. He kind of explained to me how I’d be used on the offense and how I’d enjoy just living on campus at Notre Dame, because it’s just different. The culture and the brand that they have there is just next level.”

Loken already holds scholarships to the University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, Iowa State, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and most recently Florida State across many more.

And while he’s just getting started, the culture of Notre Dame has left a good impression in his idea of a program that he wants to play for.

“I really like just the strong culture of the program,” Loken said. “You know what you’re going to get when you go there. It’s tough guys. It’s guys who want to do stuff the right way and I really like that. The program is just built around being tough and being gritty.”

The shifty junior has a lengthy list of unofficial visits with prestigious programs for the next two weeks.

On June 10, he will meet with Ohio State, and next week he has unofficial visits with Auburn, Alabama and Florida.

In 2024, Loken added 28 catches, 425 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior season.
