One of Iowa football’s official visitors from over the weekend has finalized his college commitment.
Unfortunately for Hawkeye fans, edge rusher Cory House is headed to East Lansing. Following a weekend visit to Iowa City, House announced his Tuesday commitment to the Michigan State Spartans.
A 6-foot-5, 240 pound edge rusher, House would have fit right in within Phil Parker’s defense and among Kelvin Bell’s defensive line personnel.
Instead, the three-star edge from Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tennessee, opted for Michigan State. According to 247Sports, House is the nation’s No. 68 edge rusher and the No. 20 player from the state of Tennessee.
Iowa did grab one defensive line commit on Tuesday, though.
Edina High School defensive lineman Sawyer Jezierski from Minneapolis announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes.
Jezierski is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive lineman that chose the Hawkeyes over offers from schools such as Boston College, Kansas State and Washington State. Jezierski also held offers from Army, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota and South Dakota State.
Jezierski is a three-star commit according to both On3 and 247Sports. On3 ranks Jezierski as the nation’s No. 61 defensive lineman and as the No. 6 player from Minnesota.
Meanwhile, 247Sports rates Jezierski as the 157th defensive lineman and the No. 9 player from Minnesota. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Jezierski is the No. 964 player nationally.
Jezierski is the Hawkeyes’ 10th commit in the 2026 class, joining offensive linemen Carson Nielsen, Owen Linder, Hudson Parliament, Colin Whitters and Gene Riordan, wide receivers Brody Schaffer and Diondre Smith, defensive back Marcello Vitti and quarterback Cash Herrera.
