Three-star defensive back KJ McClain committed to Tennessee football on June 11, he told multiple recruiting sites.
McClain is a 5-foot-11.5, 165-pounder is from Montvale, New Jersey. He chose the Vols over offers from at least a dozen other schools, including Michigan State.
McClain is rated as the No. 607 player overall and the No. 47 overall safety in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked No. 10 in the state of New Jersey.
He is the ninth commitment in Tennessee’s 2026 class, which is led by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon.
Wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda and defensive end Zach Groves are also committed as four-star recruits. Wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw and edge rusher C.J. Edwards are three-star recruits.
