Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to five-star cornerback John Meredith III on Wednesday.
“I’m blessed to receive an offer to the University of Tennessee,” Meredith III announced.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect is from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas. 247Sports ranks Meredith III as the No. 1 cornerback in 2027 and No. 2 player in Texas.
Purdue was the first school to offer Meredith III a scholarship on May 31, 2024. He holds 11 additional scholarship offers from Southeastern Conference schools.
Tennessee does not have any commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class. The Vols have nine commitments in their 2026 recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman C.J. Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves and safety K.J. McClain.
