AUBURN — Will Wade’s first SEC opponent in his inaugural year at North Carolina State will be Auburn basketball, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
On Wednesday, Rothstein reported the matchups for this year’s ACC/SEC Challenge. Dates and times have yet to be announced, but they’ll reported include a road trip to Neville Arena for the Wolfpack.

Wade, who’s coming off two seasons as the head coach at McNeese State, signed a six-year deal this offseason to take the same position at NC State. Before McNeese, he spent five seasons at the helm of LSU, where the program went 105-51. He went a combined 2-3 against Bruce Pearl and the Tigers while in Baton Rouge.
The addition of NC State to Auburn’s upcoming schedule brings in another formidable high-major foe, as the Tigers also have contests with Arizona, Houston and Purdue on their slate. They’ll also participate in this year’s Players Era Festival in November in Las Vegas. It’s an 18-team field that includes two other SEC opponents, as well blue blood Kansas.
