Quinn Buckey commits to 2026 class

Michigan State football: 2025 schedule and key games

Michigan State football’s schedule and key games for the 2025 season.

For the second straight day, Michigan State football landed an offensive tackle recruit.

Quinn Buckey from California announced his plans to become a Spartan via X on Friday, June 13. He is MSU’s 12th commitment for 2026 and joins four-star Collin Campbell, who gave his pledge Thursday, and three-star Eli Bickel from North Branch, as the third offensive linemen in the class.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Buckey is rated the No. 74 offensive tackle and No. 882 player overall according to the 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Buckey, of Liberty High in Bakersfield, California, chose the Spartans over UCLA, Vanderbilt, Arizona as well as other Big Ten offers from Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue.

Buckey is MSU’s first commit from California, and coach Jonathan Smith’s 2026 class currently has 10 different states represented. Bickel and four-star East Kentwood quarterback Kayd Coffman are the only two in-state commits, while the Spartans have two pledges from Ohio (S Brayden Thomas and TE Joey Caudill), and one apiece from Arizona (Campbell), Colorado (LB Braylon Hodge), Florida (S Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy), Georgia (CB Kelsey “KJ” Deriso), South Dakota (TE Eddie Whiting), Tennessee (DE Cory House) and Texas (DL Christopher Knauls).
