MADISON – For the superstitious Badger fan, Friday the 13th  turned out to be a good day.

The Wisconsin football program scored its 12th commitment of 2026 class on June 13 when Zachary Taylor, a safety from Katy, Texas, announced his commitment to the program.

Taylor is the second defensive back in the class and the sixth player to commit to UW after making an official visit this month. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound standout from Katy Jordan High School was on campus last weekend.

Taylor shared news of his commitment on X.

Though he was recruited as a safety, Taylor also has experience playing cornerback and can run the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds. Last season he had a pick 6, broke up 12 passes and finished with 60 tackles, 40 solo, to help his team finish 11-2.

In addition to Wisconsin, Taylor also made an official visit to Texas Tech and TCU. He was slated to visit Pitt and Houston, but committed to UW instead.

He received a three-star rankings from Rivals, 247sports and On3.
