The Sun’s Kevin Brockway and Noah Ram and Kevin Brockway are joined by Nathan Geise of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal to break down Florida softball, Texas Tech in WCWS.
Florida football continued its successful recruiting weekend, landing a commitment from 4-star edge rusher JaReylan McCoy on June 14.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound McCoy, from Tupelo High School in Tupelo, Mississippi, is rated a four-star per 247Sports composite, as the 16th-best defensive lineman and 121st best player nationally in the 2026 class. He chose the Florida Gators over offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama and Alcorn State.
As a junior in 2024, McCoy helped lead Tupelo High to the Class 6A Mississippi state championship, finishing with 30 tackles (7.5 tackles for loss), 4 quarterback hurries and 1.5 sacks. As a sophomore in 2023, McCoy had 23 tackles for loss. 11 sacks and two forced fumbles.
McCoy joins four-star running back Carsyn Daniel and four-star wide reciever Marquez Daniel at the third commitment that UF has landed over the last 24 hours. Overall, Florida is up to 10 commitments in a 2026 class that 247Sports now rates 28th nationally.
