Linebacker Tanner Raymond Commits To Rutgers Football

Rutgers football has secured another Linebacker commit for the 2026 class as Connecticut high three star Tanner Raymond has decided to commit to the Scarlet Knights.

His commitment came very quickly considering that Rutgers only offered him on June 13 when he started his official visit at Rutgers. It did not take him long at all to make up his mind and commit, which he did earlier today. With Adam Shaw’s decommitment earlier in the week, Rutgers was looking for another linebacker to take his spot and wasted no time in finding his replacement

Raymond currently stands at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. He plays his high school ball for Choate Rosemary Hall boarding school, which has produced a bunch of power four talent over the years. He also played basketball for his high school.

The key to Raymond’s game is his speed. He runs a 4.66 40-yard dash. He has the tools and athleticism to be a very successful linebacker at Rutgers if he is developed properly.

Until last week, Raymond had only received offers from FCS schools. Then James Madison offered him on June 12. Rutgers would offer Raymond a day later.

With Raymond’s commitment, Rutgers now has a player from 10 different states joining the 2026 class.
