Notre Dame football has multiple prospects on campus this weekend for official visits, both committed to the Irish and uncommitted.

One of the verbals currently in South Bend is running back Jonaz Walton. The 5-foot, 10-inch and 205-pounder committed to Notre Dame just over a month ago, and was still talking with others schools. That won’t be the case going forward, as On3’s Mike Singer is reporting that Walton has shut his recruitment down and won’t speak with other schools.

Walton went on the say that “there’s no doubt in my mind about my decision, and I’m not communicating with any schools.” This is great news for Notre Dame, as one of its goals with the current commits was to make sure they weren’t wavering.

It looks like it was a mission accomplished for the Irish with Walton this weekend, as he becomes one of many who have locked themselves into being part of Notre Dame’s 2026 recruiting class.
