This past weekend’s official visitors for Notre Dame look like it was a big success, and on Wednesday marked the first commitment following the action.
Pennsylvania offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh committed to the Irish over the Texas Longhorns and the Penn State Nittany Lions. The 6-foot, 8-inch and 285-pound star lineman is ranked as the nation’s No. 262 overall prospect and the No. 20 offensive tackle in the nation by the 247Sports Composite.
McKeogh now gives Notre Dame five commitments along the offensive line, one that could make up the core of that position for years to come. The newest addition could end up being the best, as he’s a true left tackle with a frame that resembles another former Irish star in Joe Alt.
While McKeogh might not have the immediate impact that Alt did for Notre Dame, he has the potential to end up going the same route, as a multi-year starter and an early NFL draft pick. This is another huge recruiting win for the Irish.
