BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football landed a verbal commitment from defensive back LaRon Dues on Tuesday, June 17.

Dues, who took an official visit to Bloomington last weekend, made the announcement on social media.

While the defensive back out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Florida isn’t currently ranked (per 247 Sports), he’s received plenty of interest from Power Four schools. He has 24 scholarship offers, including ones from Arizona, Kentucky, Oregon, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Dues had 81 tackles (64 solo) as a junior with seven tackles for a loss, four interceptions, 25 passes defended and a forced fumble. He also spent time returning kicks and punts for his team.

Indiana has doubled the size of its 2026 recruiting class in June with nine verbal commitments, eight of those coming in the last 10 days. The Hoosiers class now ranks No. 26 in the country (10th in the Big Ten), according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

Dues is the third defensive back in the class.
