Just days after the decommitment of Cash Herrera, Iowa football is back on the recruiting trail and adding some talent to its 2026 recruiting class.
On Wednesday morning, Iowa added legacy wide receiver Isaiah Oliver as a preferred walk on. Just hours later, Noah Daniel announced his commitment to join the Hawkeyes as a preferred walk-on.
Daniel is a defensive back out of Fort Dodge High School in Iowa. The 6-foot, 190-pound safety had previously been committed to play for South Dakota State. But, Daniel announced Wednesday that he would be heading to Iowa City instead.
“I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for their support throughout this process. Also very thankful to SDSU and their coaching staff for everything they have done.
“With that being said, I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to further my education and football career at the University of Iowa! I also want to thank Iowa’s coaching staff for believing in me, and giving me a shot to play for my dream school! Above all, I’m thankful to God for blessing me with the chance to compete at the next level and knowing none of this would be possible without Him. Excited for the future!” Daniel wrote in his announcement on X.
In addition to Iowa and South Dakota State, Daniel also earned offers from Central Michigan, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and South Dakota.
Daniel plays wide receiver and defensive back at Fort Dodge where he hauled in 17 receptions for 374 yards and six touchdowns, while also adding in three kickoff return touchdowns last season.
The multi-sport athlete also recently competed in the Class 4A 100- and 200-meter events at the state track meet.
