Tennessee lost a commitment in its 2026 football recruiting class.
Wide receiver Tyran Evans decommitmented from Tennessee on Wednesday, according to On3.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect is from William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina. 247Sports ranks Evans as the No. 81 wide receiver in 2026 and No. 23 prospect in North Carolina.
Tennessee offered him a scholarship on Nov. 5, 2024. He unofficially visited Tennessee for the UTEP football game and a practice on Dec. 14, 2024. Evans announced his commitment to Tennessee on Jan. 5. and unofficially visited the Vols on March 29.
With his decommitment, the Vols have nine commitments in their 2026 football recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman C.J. Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety K.J. McClain and safety Luke Thompson. J.P. Peace is Tennessee’s first commitment in the 2027 football recruiting class.
