MSU football reportedly ‘re-offers’ high-level in-state lineman

Michigan State football has reportedly “re-offered” a big-time in-state lineman prospect in the 2027 class.

Corey Robinson of 247Sports reported earlier this week that the Spartans have re-offered four-star lineman Jameer Henry out of Detroit. Henry is a lineman for Michigan high school powerhouse Detroit Martin Luther King.

Henry is a four-star prospect in the 2027 class with a recruiting rating of 89.86. He is listed as the No. 34 defensive lineman and No. 7 player from Michigan in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the class. He is also ranked No. 315 overall in the class.

Michigan State offensive line coach Jim Michalczik is listed as the primary recruiter and Robinson listed him as an offensive tackle in his article. So while he is rated as a defensive lineman, it appears the Spartans envision him playing on the offensive line.

Michigan State is one of more than 20 schools to extend an offer to Henry, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pitt, Tennessee, Purdue, USC, Vanderbilt and a chunk of group of five schools.
