A five-commitment weekend for Purdue football coach Barry Odom is filling up his 2026 recruiting class and the next layer of a sizable rebuild.

Big defensive lineman Josiah Hope pledged his commitment to the Boilermakers on Sunday. Hope figures to be a key piece in the trenches, listing himself at 6 foot 4, 305 pounds. Hope visited Purdue’s campus the weekend of June 6, per On3, and chose Purdue over offers from LSU, Arkansas, Louisville, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt and others.

He was rated a three-star recruit, No. 596 nationally by On3’s industry rankings out of Radcliff North Hardin (Kentucky). He’s the second-highest recruit in Purdue’s class and had four-star designations by On3 and ESPN. On3’s industry rankings take a composite of On3, 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals for a wholesale rating.

Hope was the fifth commitment the Boilermakers received this weekend. They included  wide receiver Brandon Kinsey, offensive lineman Terrell Berryhill Jr., defensive lineman Aiden Solecki and athlete Dream Rashad.

Purdue’s class features 17 commitments, though not every recruit has an industry ranking yet. It ranks 45th nationally and 15th in the Big Ten.
