Mosley football two-way standout Carson Griffin has committed to Delaware, he announced on X, formerly known as Twitter. He chose the Fightin’ Blue Hens over the likes of Florida Atlantic, FIU, Northern Illinois, Coastal Carolina and Austin College.
“Delaware has a good culture and coaching staff,” Griffin said. “They invested in me, made it feel like home and were always responsive.”
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound standout played a key role in the Dolphins’ offense, leading the team with 40 catches for 544 yards and seven touchdowns. Griffin also contributed nine tackles and an interception during limited action on defense.
Griffin praised the Delaware program’s vision for his development and how coaches laid out their plan.
“The campus and facilities are really nice,” he said. “The coaching staff laid it all out for me and how they were going to use me.”
Primarily recruited as a wide receiver, Griffin said his role could expand.
“Coach (Terence) Archer, my position coach, said once I get established in the offense, they’d love to see me on defense, too,” Griffin said.
Griffin, originally from Virginia, said the transition to the Northeast should be smooth.
“Being from Virginia, the cold won’t be too much of a change,” he said. “And the University of Delaware is the only big state school. There are no pro sports teams, so everyone comes out to support.”
Delaware competes in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and is set to join the FBS ranks in 2025 as a member of Conference USA.
