Michigan State football lands Samson Gash over Alabama, others

Michigan State has made yet another splash in the 2026 recruiting class, landing another plan A target in the group, this time one from their own home state.

The Spartans have won a major recruiting battle, keeping Samson Gash in state, and holding off pushes from several major programs. MSU gained the commitment of the in-state wide receiver on Tuesday.

Gash, a Novi (MI) native, attends Catholic Central High School where he is a standout wide receiver. In 2024, he caught 42 passes for 731 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 347 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is a 3-star prospect that is 89-rated and the No. 4 player in the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports.

Michigan State won this recruitment over a major push from Alabama, while also holding off the likes of West Virginia. The head to head victory over Alabama is just another showing of just how red hot the Spartan have been on the recruiting trail in the month of June.

With this commitment, the Spartans have eclipsed 20 commitments, with Gash joining Kayd Coffman, Braylon Hodge, Cory House, Eddie Whiting, KJ Deriso, Brayden Thomas, Joey Caudill, Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, Christopher Knauls, Eli Bickel, Collin Campbell, Quinn Buckey, TJ Umenyiora, Jordan Vann, Fameitau Siale, Zachary Washington, Tristan Comer, Adam Shaw and Tyren Wortham in the recruiting class.
