Oklahoma football lands four-star EDGE Daniel Norman

Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners picked up their sixth four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class on Monday when defensive end Daniel Norman committed to play for the Sooners.

Norman, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound EDGE rusher from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is ranked No. 54 in the state of Florida. He chose Oklahoma over Miami (FL), LSU, Penn State, and others. At On3, the Hurricanes had been tabbed as the team most likely to land Norman. The newest Sooner plays for the same high school that helped produce former OU star and current Denver Broncos star Nik Bonitto.

OU now has the No. 21-ranked class in the 2026 cycle, according to On3.

Norman’s commitment came just three days after the Sooners picked up quarterback Bowe Bentley, one of the top 100 players in the country, and on the same day, Oklahoma picked up a commitment from linebacker Beau Jandreau from Arizona.

Oklahoma now has 12 commitments in the class. Those 12 players rank the Sooners ninth out of the 16 teams in the SEC thus far in On3’s rankings. OU ranks ninth, as well, in 247’s SEC rankings, as well. The class is currently made up of seven defensive players and six on offense.

Norman registered 30 tackles and seven sacks for St. Thomas Aquinas in his junior season last year.
