4-star Colquitt County RB commits to Georgia football

Four-star running back recruit Jae Lamar has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Lamar committed to Georgia over Miami, Florida State, Clemson and Auburn.

Lamar plays high school football for Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia. Lamar is the latest Colquitt County running back to commit to Georgia. Previously, four-star running back Daijun Edwards, who also played for Colquitt County, committed to Georgia as a member of the class of 2020. Edwards went on to rush for 2,083 yards and 24 touchdowns during his four season career at Georgia.

“Growing up, I’ve always been a Dawg fan,” said Lamar, who announced his commitment at his high school. Lamar made sure to thank all the teams that recruited him. Lamar revealed that he wanted to commit to Georgia after the Bulldogs extended an offer to him, but he talked with his family and decided to be a little more patient throughout his recruiting process.

Lamar is the No. 107 recruit in the class of 2026. The 6-foot, 205-pound running back is the No. 8 player at his position and the No. 12 prospect in Georgia, per 247Sports.

Lamar took official visits with the Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Clemson Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs and Florida State Seminoles ahead of his commitment decision. Lamar’s cousin, Ny Carr, is a freshman wide receiver with Miami Hurricanes.

Lamar is Georgia’s No. 21 commitment in the class of 2026. The Colquitt County standout is Georgia’s first commitment at running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Georgia is also hoping to land a commitment from four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge on June 26. The Bulldogs recently have picked up commitments from four-star linebacker Shadarious Toodle, four-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks and three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard.
