SEC starting Quarterbacks ranked

The SEC is breaking in a number of new quarterbacks in the conference this year, but several players have a chance to be in the Heisman Trophy conversation as the season goes along. It’s the most important position on the field, and much of how the SEC season will go will depend on which quarterbacks shine during the season.

There are only five schools that have the same week one starter that they did in 2024. Garrett Nussmeier, LaNorris Sellers, Taylen Green, Diego Pavia, and Blake Shapen are the only quarterbacks projected to start week one, two years in a row. But teams like Florida and Texas A&M found their starters midway through the 2024 season with D.J. Lagway and Marcel Reed.

Five teams will be rolling with transfer portal quarterbacks as their starters in 2025, and three schools have starters who have sat and waited for a couple of years: Arch Manning, Gunner Stockton, and Ty Simpson.

We’re a couple of months away from the start of the season but fall camp will be here before we know it. Here’s how we’re stacking up the SEC quarterbacks ahead of 2025 training camp.

16. Zach Calzada, Kentucky

15. Gunner Stockton, Georgia

Gunner Stockton helped Georgia win the SEC title after taking over for the injured Carson Beck but struggled against a good Notre Dame defense. He’s likely to surpass this ranking, but there’s a lot to prove for the Georgia quarterback.
