LaNorris Sellers is taking the opposite approach of Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos when it comes to talking about Alabama football.
Sellers, South Carolina’s quarterback, nearly beat the Crimson Tide in 2024 after the Gamecocks recovered an on-side kick with 43 seconds left trailing 27-25. But, the game ended with a Domani Jackson interception.
Castellanos showed his confidence, telling On3 that Alabama “don’t have Nick Saban to save them.”
“I just don’t see them stopping me,” Castellanos continued.
In an appearance on The Zach Gelb Show, Sellers praised the Crimson Tide.
“Shoot, Alabama’s still Alabama to me,” Sellers said. “They were good last year. They’re a good team. They’re big, strong and fast. That’s how I remember watching them growing up. And I don’t really think they’ve changed that much. Obviously, they have a new coaching staff and all that. But that’s still SEC ball. They’re still Alabama.”
In South Carolina’s 27-25 loss to the Crimson Tide, Sellers completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 238 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and an interception, and lost two fumbles.
Alabama will travel to Columbia to face South Carolina Oct. 25.
