2026 3-star OL Aaron Thomas chooses Ohio State over Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has landed its 20th and 21st commitments on Wednesday afternoon after four-star offensive tackles Avery Morcho and Zaden Krempin made their consecutive announcements.

However, after Krempin chose the Aggies over Texas, three-star offensive lineman Aaron Thomas committed to Ohio State on Wednesday night.

After his official visit to Texas A&M last weekend, Thomas was predicted to land with the Aggies. Still, knowing that Avery Morcho and Zaden Krempin represent the future starters at tackle, at least on paper, Ohio State’s roster holes at tackle, combined with the program’s elite reputation, sealed the deal late.

Standing at 6-7 and 300 pounds, Thomas has a very bright future despite his late switch to the O-line. On film, Thomas exhibits the athletic traits necessary to become a reliable pass protector, thanks to his fluid athleticism, which enhances his footwork and balance. His size and strength will also enable him to bulldoze defenders in the run game.

Texas A&M offensive line coach Adam Cushing is one of the top assistant coaches in college football, thanks to his ability to develop promising offensive linemen into future NFL draft selections —a skill he demonstrated during his time at Northwestern and Duke in the same role. Still, this is how recruiting works when surprise commitments, like Krempin, affect the decisions of fellow ascending tackle prospects.

According to 247Sports, Thomas is currently positioned as the 50th-ranked tackle and the 8th-ranked prospect in Arizona.
