Wisconsin recruiting target Ben Duncum commits to Kentucky

Wisconsin football class of 2026 target, defensive lineman Ben Duncum, committed to Kentucky on Wednesday.

Duncum chose the Wildcats over the Badgers, Kansas State Wildcats and Oklahoma State Cowboys.

247Sports ranks the Austin, Texas, native as the No. 855 overall player in the class of 2026, the No. 90 defensive lineman and the No. 134 recruit from his home state. His commitment follows official visits to each of his four finalists, including Madison, Wisconsin, on June 13.

Duncum joins a Kentucky class of 2026 that currently ranks No. 59 in the nation with 11 players committed. That group is quickly approaching Wisconsin’s class, which sits at No. 52 nationally with 13 commitments.

Wisconsin also recently saw defensive line target Kobe Cherry commit to a Big Ten rival. The program has two defensive linemen currently committed to its class: three-star prospects Djidjou Bah and Arthur Scott. The former’s pledge is worth monitoring after he recently took an official visit to an SEC program.

Wisconsin is still looking for its first commitment since June 15. While Duncum is headed to the SEC, the Badgers could be on the verge of major splashes with athlete Jackson Ford, running back Amari Latimer, wide receiver Jayden Petit and offensive tackle Kamari Blair all still uncommitted. Adding several of those blue-chip prospects will be key to Wisconsin salvaging what has been a disappointing recruiting cycle to date.
