Notre Dame football’s recruiting hot streak is not slowing down anytime soon, and on Thursday afternoon they added yet another talented prospect to its 2026 recruiting class.
The Irish were viewed as a contender for Kansas tight end Ian Premer, but it looked like it would be tough to pull him away from his home state, but that’s exactly what happened. Notre Dame beat out Kansas State, Kansas and Iowa State for the 6-foot, 5-inch and 220-pound tight end.
It’s a big verbal for the Irish, as Premer is ranked as the No. 44 prospect in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. He becomes the second player at the position for Notre Dame, joining Preston Fryzel, who committed just a few days ago.
The class is now up to twenty-two commits, with room for just a few more as Notre Dame tries to shore up a class that is viewed by many as one of the top collections of talent in the 2026 cycle.
