Missouri State football added to its secondary via a three-star defensive back out of Texas.
Josiah “Jo” Turner announced his commitment to the Bears on X on Friday evening, June 27. He’s rated as the No. 136 safety in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.
The North Forney High prospect also held offers from Arizona State, New Mexico, Texas State, Sacramento State and Ivy League programs, among others. The Bears offered him earlier this month, and he’ll be eligible to join the team in the spring.
According to his MaxPreps page, he had 43 solo tackles and 28 assists. He picked off one pass and returned it 31 yards.
Turner becomes the first out-of-state recruit and defensive player to commit to the Bears’ 2026 class. He’s also the first ranked recruit to commit to MSU, according to the 247Sports database.
