A look at Alabama football’s Walk of Champions at Bryant-Denny Stadium

JACKSON, Ala. — Ezavier Crowell had a decision to make.
The 2026 Jackson running back stayed awake thinking through his options and which college football program would be best to join. But when clarity came, it came from the program Crowell had always loved. It was the one for which he felt he would be a great. It was the one he felt he could help turn around.
Crowell, the Alabama football fan, chose the Crimson Tide, committing June 26 over Georgia, Texas and Auburn.
“Alabama’s Alabama,” Crowell said. “Since growing up, I’ve been watching them, and I feel like I wanted to be a part of them. Whenever I got the offer my freshman year, I knew I was going there. It’s just a dream come true, committing to the University of Alabama. Just living out my dream.”
Traketa Roberts, Crowell’s mom, said she knew her son would be on this stage since he was 7 years old, saying he just had “it,” that he was “blessed.”
“He grew up watching Bama,” Roberts told the Tuscaloosa News. “That’s the family team. It’s a dream come true. He loved the coaches. The coaches and the staff, they treat us real good. Just like family.”
Crowell, a 5-foot-11, 215-pound back out of Jackson High School, is the second-ranked running back nationally per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
After two seasons at Jackson, per 247Sports, he had more than 4,000 all-purpose yards and 62 touchdowns. Crowell reclassified to the 2026 class in January.
“When you start looking at what it means in this state to play for one of the most storied programs in the nation, also in your state, it carries a lot of weight,” Jackson football coach Cody Flournoy said.
