CLEMSON — Clemson football and coach Dabo Swinney have their fourth defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star Keshawn Stancil.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder from Clayton High School in North Carolina is rated the No. 10 player in the state and the No. 20 defensive lineman nationally by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Stancil recorded 63 tackles, including nine sacks, and three forced fumbles in his junior year to help his school have a 10-2 record, according to MaxPreps.
Stancil chose Clemson over Georgia, Miami, NC State and Penn State and announced his commitment on July 28 at his school. He is Clemson’s 20th commitment in the 2026 class. He joins four-star Dre Quinn and three-stars Kameron Cody and JR Hardrick as its defensive lineman commits.
Swinney’s 2026 class is ranked No. 6 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. It has 14 four-star recruits and six three-stars commits. It is a complete change from last year’s cycle that finished with 15 signees and ranked 26th nationally, which was Swinney’s lowest-rated cycle since 2010 and his smallest class since 2017.
Stancil is the third recruit from North Carolina in the 2026 class to commit to the Tigers, joining four-stars Leo Delaney and wide receiver Gordon Sellars. Stancil is also the eighth defensive player to commit to Clemson.
