Elite defensive tackle recruit projected to commit to Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs could have the upper hand in recruiting an elite prospect. On3 has predicted that when four-star defensive lineman PJ Dean announces his commitment on June 30, he will choose to play for Georgia over South Carolina and Ohio State.

Dean is a four-star defensive lineman from the class of 2026. He stands at 6-foot-5, weighs 255-pound, and plays football for West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, North Carolina.

Dean visited Georgia four times over his recruitment period, the most of any school. He went on an official visit with Georgia on June 6. South Carolina places second with three visits, including an official visit on May 30, while Ohio State has had just two visits with Dean, including an official visit on June 13.

Georgia has landed commitments from three-star defensive linemen Carter Luckie, Seven Cloud, James Johnson and Corey Howard, so if Dean were to commit, he’d be the second highest ranked defensive lineman in Georgia’s class of 2026 (behind James Johnson). Dean is the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 66 prospect in the nation.

Georgia’s class of 2026 ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the nation behind USC. The Bulldogs have been on a recruiting hot streak recently, earning a commitment every day since June 22. Dean could be another great addition to the Bulldogs’ class of 2026. Overall, the Bulldogs have earned 14 recruits in the month of June alone.
