Florida’s tight end group aims to maintain strong offensive production in the 2025 season despite losing Arlis Boardingham to the transfer portal.Returning tight end Hayden Hansen is expected to start, focusing on improving his route running.Tony Livingston, Caleb Rillos, and Amir Jackson are also expected to contribute at the tight end position.
Florida football is seeking continued offensive production from the tight end position in 2025.
Last season, Floridia Gators tight ends combined for 44 catches for 442 yards and 5 TDs. UF lost one of its top tight end targets, Arlis Boardingham (18 catches, 128 yards, 2 TDs), to Bowling Green after he entered the transfer portal last season.
But Florida offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Russ Callaway remains confident in the playmaking ability of the position group.
“One thing about this tight end group is we’ve gotta block like offensive linemen, we’ve gotta run routes like skill guys,” Callaway said. “It’s really good but the time isn’t always there. We challenge those guys in the offseason, hey you need to go get extra work, do these drills.”
Callaway, too, has had his time stretched more thinly due to his dual roles as offensive coordinator and tight end coach. But he’s received help and guidance from Florida football senior offensive analyst John Donovan, who has had prior experience coaching tight ends with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2018-19) and Penn State (2014).
