Will MSU go bowling in 2025? Latest projections from CBS Sports say no

The latest bowl projections from CBS Sports has the Spartans sitting at home again this holiday season.

Last week, On3 took a look at the most recent bowl projections from CBS Sports, and unfortunately, Michigan State was not included. As we sit in late June, Michigan State was not included in the latest batch of bowl projections on CBS Sports.

Michigan State is coming off a third straight season where they failed to reach bowl eligibility. The Spartans started last season 3-0 but struggled from that point, finishing the year with a 5-7 overall record.

I’m personally pretty high on the Spartans entering this upcoming season so seeing them left off these bowl projections is surprising. Teams like Wisconsin, Minnesota, UCLA and Nebraska all got the nod over the Spartans for the lower tier Big Ten bowl games, which I’d argue that I’d take Michigan State’s odds over a few of those teams to make a bowl game personally.

Michigan State opens the season on August 29 in a home game against Western Michigan. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. ET and be televised on FS1.
