Penn State running back Nick Singleton and defensive tackle Zane Durant have been selected to the Walter Camp Preseason All-America first team, it was announced Tuesday.
In addition, Nittany Lions guard Vega Ioane was named to the second team.
Singleton, the former Gov. Mifflin standout, also has been named to preseason All-America first teams published by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview, Lindy’s Sports and Athlon Sports.
He ranks 10th in career rushing at Penn State with 2,912 yards and is within reach of Evan Royster, who holds the school record with 3,932.
Singleton also has a chance to break two other school records that are owned by Saquon Barkley. He has 41 touchdowns, 12 behind Barkley, and 4,673 all-purpose yards, 865 behind Barkley.

Durant has been a two-year starter with 64 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in his career. Last season, he ranked fourth among FBS defensive tackles with 11 tackles for loss and tied for first among Big Ten defensive tackles with three sacks.
He also has been named a preseason first-team All-American by Lindy’s and was chosen to the second team by Phil Steele’s.
Ioane has made 21 starts the last two seasons and was voted to the All-Big Ten second team last season. He helped Penn State rank ninth in the country in fewest tackles for loss allowed.
He has been voted to Athlon and Phil Steele’s preseason All-America first teams and to the second team chosen by Lindy’s.
Other Penn State players picked as Phil Steele’s All-Americans are quarterback Drew Allar, first team, and cornerback A.J. Harris, fourth team.
