Arkansas football lands commitment from 2027 QB Joaquin Kavouklis

Arkansas football’s summer recruiting run is now dipping into the 2027 class.

Three-star quarterback Joaquin Kavouklis committed to the Razorbacks Thursday, giving Arkansas its foundational piece for next year’s cycle. Kavouklis confirmed the announcement on his social media pages and also held offers from the likes of West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Kavouklis is the 58th-best quarterback prospect in his class. Overall, the 6-foot-2 recruit ranks 654th in the country and 79th in the state of Florida.

According to MaxPreps, Kavouklis threw for 2,404 yards with 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions last fall. He was a sophomore starting for Tarpon Springs, who went 5-6.

Kavouklis transferred to Lakeland High School this offseason. The Dreadnaughts have won nine state championships and are historically one of the most successful programs in Central Florida both on the field and sending recruits to the next level. Lakeland went 13-1 last year.

Kavouklis is the second commit in Arkansas’ 2027 class, joining offensive lineman Bradley Sturdivant, who plays for in-state Sheridan High School.

He is also the second commit in as many days for Arkansas, who landed 2026 linebacker JJ Bush on Wednesday.

A lot can change via high school recruiting and the transfer portal, but Arkansas is slated to have a quarterback room of KJ Jackson, Grayson Wilson, Trever Jackson, Jayvon Gilmore and Kavouklis in 2027. Gilmore is a 2026 commit, with the other three quarterbacks still holding four years of eligibility with the Razorbacks.
