Penn State in top-3 for 4-star recruit from Ohio State’s backyard

Penn State is in a key recruiting battle for a player from an hour outside of Columbus, Ohio.

The Nittany Lions were named in the top-3 for Brayden Fogle, a tight end from Lexington, an hour away north of Ohio State.

The Buckeyes weren’t involved in this stage of Fogle’s recruitment.

Fogle also named Georgia and LSU in his top-three.

He’s a 6-foot-3, 225-pound tight end regarded as top-10 at his position in the country. He’s a four-star recruit.

Fogle plans to make his decision on July 4.

Does he want to be a Bulldog, a Tiger or a Nittany Lion?

Penn State will be quarterbacked this fall by Drew Allar, a Mentor, Ohio native who stuck with Penn State’s early loyalty in his recruitment.

Fogle is from even closer to OSU than Allar.

The Lexington star had an interesting recruitment because he actually was a stud basketball recruit first.

The lefty hooper had an offer from Texas A&M before he had played a high school basketball game.

He never developed into an outside shooter on the hardwood, but he became a monster as a receiving big fella on the gridiron.

Now, he’s choosing between three of the best programs in the country. Penn State is in the mix, but Ohio State is on the outside looking in.
