Devin, Jaylen Fitzgerald detail football lives, connection as cousins
Brophy Prep football cousins Devin Fitzgerald and Jaylen Fitzgerald detail their relationship as cousins and their plans on the gridiron.
As expected, Devin Fitzgerald — son of Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald — is taking his talents out of state.
The Brophy Prep receiver, a senior this fall, announced his decision to attend Notre Dame in 2026. He chose the Fighting Irish over schools including Clemson, Stanford and UCLA.

The Arizona Republic recently listed Fitzgerald as the No. 2 receiver in the state.
“Devin Fitzgerald, Brophy Prep, 6-2, 205, Sr.
“He’s made big strides on the field every year since his freshman year. He has all the moves to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Excellent vision and hands with the ability to break tackles and make plays after catches.”
Here’s a scouting report from 247 Sports: “Fitzgerald has made a big jump in his development over the last year and especially this off-season. He has clearly established himself as one of the top players in the region and one of the better receivers nationally … .
“Has a strong, athletic frame with big hands and has improved his twitch and athleticism. He’s moving more fluidly, looks more explosive getting down the field and has more juice in his game from an athletic standpoint.”
The site’s review couldn’t help but include a reference to Devin’s dad when it came to Devin’s excellence in running routes.
