New Vols commit Brayden Rouse aiming for nation’s best class, joins charge for five-star phenom

The Tennessee Volunteers have been on fire on the recruiting trail, and their momentum grew even stronger Tuesday night when they landed priority linebacker Brayden Rouse. This was Rouse’s first season playing the position, but linebackers coach William Inge saw his potential from the start.

So far, the Vols have two five-star commitments in the 2026 class: Gabriel Osenda and future quarterback Faizon Brandon.

“The Volunteers already have two five-star prospects committed. A five-star QB committed in Faizon Brandon, who is a huge recruiting tool for Tennessee, and they also have Gabriel Osenda,” Sports Illustrated’s Najeh Wilkins wrote.

When the next rankings are released, Rouse could very well earn a fifth star himself. But if you ask him, he’s already focused on recruiting another elite talent to join him on Rocky Top.

“I want to have the best recruiting class in the country. I am going to keep working to make this class the best it can be. The first guy I am going after is Tristen Keys,” Rouse said after his commitment.

The Vols have been working to flip Keys ever since he committed to LSU. For Keys, development is a top priority.

“When it comes to money and development, of course I’d take development first because we trying to get to that big money, which is NFL,” Keys said. “When it comes to 700 to seven figures, and the production is there with the 700, I would take it because I want to be ready and prepared for the next level as fast as possible. So development is No. 1 for me, for sure.”

Keys has already gone on record about his feelings toward Tennessee—and right now, things are looking good for the Volunteers.
