The Big 12 was a major factor in the 2025 NFL draft, with 31 players selected. Notably, Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan were two top 10 picks. With a multitude of talented players departing the conference, which players will take over as the top performers?
The Athletic’s Manny Navarro dove into the Big 12’s top 25 players heading into the 2025 season and two Colorado players made the ranking. Unsurprisingly, the two players to make the list are offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and cornerback DJ McKinney. Seaton was the Big 12’s No. 10 overall player, while McKinney came in at No. 22.
Seaton and McKinney are, without a doubt, two of Colorado’s best players and have the highest current NFL potential on the Buffaloes’ roster.
Seaton is one of only two offensive tackles to make Navarro’s top 10 behind No. 1 ranked player Utah tackle Spencer Fano, who, in all likelihood, will be a top 10 pick in next year’s draft. After a freshman All-American season last year, Seaton certainly has the talent to become a first-round pick in the next few years.
McKinney is taking over for Travis Hunter as the Buffs’ top outside cornerback and has first-round pick written all over him. He played the most defensive snaps (840) on the team last year and should be an All-American candidate in 2025.
Other players to make the top 10 include Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson (No. 2), Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt (No. 3), Cincinnati defensive lineman Dontay Corleone (No. 4), Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez (No. 5) and Baylor linebacker Keaton Thomas (No. 6).
