Texas Longhorns safety Michael Taaffe partnered with the fast-food chain P. Terry’s to help raise relief funds for victims of the July 4th Hill County flash floods that took some 121 lives.
Taaffee chipped in by signing autographs and other memorabilia for fans.
“With everything going on, I wanted to use my platform to give back with whatever I could do,” Taaffe said, according to the Austin American-Statesman. “I know that I have such a cool atmosphere being at Texas and Longhorn fans being so supportive of things like this. Just being a local guy, when I saw P. Terry’s say they were going to send 100% of all profits to the Kerr County flood, I thought that was a great opportunity to help them out and raise more money.”
